Tokai Teio (トウカイテイオー, Tōkai Teiō) is the tritagonist of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby and the main protagonist of its second season.
She is a lively horse girl who highly admires Symboli Rudolf, fancied to enter Team Rigil and aims for the Japanese Triple Crown. She often hangs out with Team Spica as a non-member. After several events with the team, she reconsidered and joined Team Spica instead.
Personality[]
Her passion and enthusiasm for racing is nearly unmatched, always up for an challenge and willing to go all out to achieve victory. But she is also very prideful and cheeky at times; as shown she will purposely act depressed so Symboli Rudolf will meet up with her. Although she aims for the best, she would rather be happy than succeed with stress.

She is a small-sized horse girl who has long amber brown hair tied in a ponytail with a pink ribbon, she also has a streak of white hair in her bangs which is slightly longer. A amber jewel with two ribbon tails is present on her right ear. Her eye color is sky blue.

Tokai Teio[2] is a racehorse in 1990s. He became an undefeat Double Crown next to his father Symboli Rudolf, but he had to give up Kikka Sho because of leg fractures.
He has overwhelming race ability, though, he broke his leg three times, and repeated resting. Nevertheless he finally won Arima Kinen after almost one year rest.
- His name "Teio (emperor)" comes from his father. His breeder Nagahama Farm named him Hamano Teio as a childhood name. When Uchimura bought him, he succeeded the name but changing his crown to Tokai[Note 1].
- He often stepped like a passage in dressage on the paddock. People often called it "Teio Step." This is referred to Uma Musume.
- He is known as a "good-looking horse". After he retired, his photo album was released, titled "Yume o Kakeru."
- He won Japan Cup two generations in a row. In those days, it was difficult for Japanese horses to win foreign ones.
- The span that he rested before last Arima was 364 days. This is still the record of JRA.
